Sean at the Seaside

This is a graphic alphabet that attempts to combine some of our main preoccupations over a number of years. These include spatial ambiguity on a flat plane, the decorative possibilities of simple linear elements such as the stripe and the square, objects in space and the making of new alphabets. In this case we remembered artists : Sean Scully because of his intensely serious and beautiful stripes; we like to think of him occasionally letting his hair down and dancing on a beach with Eduardo Chilled, best known for his ambigigues twisted metal forms..             2004
